About Us
The Story Behind All Things Native
Most of our childhood memories are tied to the food we ate as kids. And for many of us, that food was lovingly prepared by our grandparents. My childhood was no different. The warmth of my grandmother’s kitchen, the love she put into every meal—those memories have stayed with me forever. But when I lost her, I began to realize how much of her knowledge, the foods she cooked, and the traditions she followed had been lost with her. Slowly, I saw that only bits and pieces remained with my mother, and even those were fading away.
I began to talk to the food enthusiasts around me, people who also had similar stories of how food connected them to their past. As I spoke to more grandmothers and elders, I realized it wasn’t just about the food itself—it was about the feelings, the habits, and the purpose behind it. The purpose wasn’t to lose weight or hit protein goals; it was about being happy with what you ate, consuming food with love, and living well and content.
That’s when I understood the importance of preserving these practices. The idea for All Things Native was born from the realization that the rich food culture and traditions that once brought us joy were slipping away. And so, we set out to bring those simple, mindful habits back into our lives.
We’re just two die-hard foodies on a mission to bring the heart of Indian Native food back to the world, and we want you to be part of this journey with us!
